Doug George

Doug George began his career in state taxes back in the in 1979 when he accepted a position as a tax auditor in the Hazard Taxpayer Service Center with the Kentucky Revenue Cabinet. He served in this position up until 2001 when he became Audit Supervisor. In 2003 he transferred to the Corbin Taxpayer Service Center where he served until his retirement in July of 2007. During his illustrious career Doug audited every major coal company in Kentucky and became a leading tax expert in this area for the state. After his retirement he began doing tax consulting with an emphasis on the manufacturing and the coal business. Since then, he has filed and obtained more than 32 million dollars in tax refunds for his clients. Doug has been married to Jeannie for 42 years and resides in London, Kentucky. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf and watching the Cincinnati Reds.
Scott George
Chief Operating Officer
With over 35 years of experience in state government and tax auditing and consulting, Scott is a veteran state tax specialist. Scott served 22 years as a tax auditor for the state of Kentucky specializing in sales, property, severance and fuel taxes. It was at the Department that Scott handled the audits of some of the largest companies in the United States. Scott was appointed District Manager for the Corbin Taxpayer Service Center of the Kentucky Department of Revenue in Southeastern Kentucky in 2008 and served in that position until his retirement in 2012. After retiring he joined his brother Doug to form George & Company Tax Consulting. Scott has since completed numerous major tax reductions and refund projects for their clients. His extensive experience in audit management, identifying tax reduction and refund opportunities and handling statistical sampling audits has proven to be a major reason for George and Company’s overall success. Scott has been married to his wife Christy for 19 years and resides in London, Kentucky with their children Sydney and Grayson. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, playing golf and collecting sports memorabilia.
Tyler D. George
General Counsel
Tyler D. George serves as on staff Legal Counsel for George & Company. His duties are to oversee all legal affairs within the company ranging from filing audit protests to litigation with all taxing jurisdictions. He came to George & Company after receiving his undergraduate degree from Western Kentucky University and then graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He is also a founding partner of the Cessna & George Law Firm. When not busy practicing law and helping his clients, Tyler enjoys spending time with family and friends. You might also find him on the golf course or in Cincinnati watching the Reds play.
